Summer 2012~~It's a wrap :-)

Summer 2012 is officially over!! :-(  We are excited for what the new school year will bring us...yet bummed that our 'often', evening trips to the ball bark aren't going to be near as frequent with school starting.  It hasn't been 'quite' the dream season as it was last year but the dbacks are still officially in it.

I have about 4 of these pics with the girls with JJ...I think the first one, they were at his belt :-(
My nacho buddy :-)
They still love coming (thank goodness)

Carli's Nationals--Columbus, OH

We recently spent 5 days in Columbus for the 16 age division Nationals for Carli's team.  It has been fun coaching this group of girls again...many of the same girls that I coached when Carli's group was 13.  We came into the tournament seeded 29th out of 48 teams.  A very tough break kept us out of the top 12 bracket.  We ended up finishing 19th which really was a good finish for us!  Volleyball is officially over for a very small amount of time.  Enjoying a little break~~then already excited for school ball to start in a few weeks :-)

Carli and I's passes for the week :-)

Shopping with Dallmanns and Hoffpauirs -)

The end of the 5 days...I think we both look a little tired :-)

Team X-factor!!  Some great young women!!

Summer Fun!

We had a great Father's Day at the house with our family over for a BBQ.  This has truly been like no other summer with Craig off the whole time!  It has been so nice just going and doing as we please.

We have been out by the pool quite a bit...lil putz kiddos jumping off the rock with Codi :-)

We have spent many nights here at the Ballpark...after kind of a bumpy road...we are hoping the dbacks are back on the road to last year's ways!!

These 3 were an amazing source of Entertainment at the day game last week!!  Good Times!!

Codi and Craig headed up to Sedona for a day to hang out and fish with the Schmitts!

We finally hit the brakes!!

We have all finally hit the brakes from the crazy spring to enjoy the summer before it flies by us!! I'm gonna keep up with this better so I can~~someday~~create a book for the kids to keep...although the kids might have to help me make it! :-) This summer is different than any we have ever had...Craig is a few months from retirement and has taken the rest of his time owed to him off...meaning he will never have to be on the streets again!! amen....It also means he has been home all summer with us!! It has been fun to have late night razor rides/trips to the closest bar/and whatever else we decide to do last minute!! Here are some pics from things we have done since the last post in February!! Codi's club season ended in April...she had a great year and was with a great group of kids!! We still have Nationals at the beginning of July for Carli's team!
On May 12th...the day finally came!!  Lance and Mosty were married in a small ceremony on one of the beautiful ranches that Mosty's family owns!!  She was beautiful!!!
Poor Craig had just had eye surgery so couldn't take his shades off :-)
Love it!!
We all celebrated Codi's 8th grade promotion at the end of May!
Waiting for her name :-)
Her biggest fans :-)

We just recently returned from a trip to San Diego to see the Putz new place, watch the Dbacks, and sneak a trip to Dland in....:-)
We took all the little kids on the Autopia cars...they loved it :-)
Heading to Ca screaming :0

The little ones had to drag Carli on Tower of Terror...this is their version of Carli's scared face!!

No organized way to catch up!! :-)

I haven't posted or updated anything since New Years...I figured the easiest was to just clump it all in one :-) Probably the most significant thing that has happened is our little princess turning 16!! Like the ol saying goes...I simply cannot believe how fast time goes by!! We had a pretty decent size party for her 16th :-) She has a great group of friends both boys and girls :-) The venue was perfect (many thanks to the hosts :-)....the kids danced, played ping pong and seemed to have a great time!!

The group shot :-)

The actual day of her birthday and party really didn't seem to bother me too much...the hardest day was definitely taking her to get her driver license!! Her good friend Kayla came with us...once she had it in her hands, I decided to let her take my car straight from there and head out as a legal driver....of course once I knew Craig would come and pick me up!! :-) I was dumbfounded watching her drive off!!!

After a few weeks of her insisting on taking my car every moment she could, we decided it was time for another vehicle in our driveway! :-) She now has her own mode of transportation! We bought grandpa's tacoma this past week!! It was very weird for me to drive to school by myself again :-(

Codi has had a busy few months too with Elementary softball winding down...Frontier stunned everyone by winning their way to the District Championship game! Codi pitched many of the games this season and definitely increased her speed from last year! She had a blast with this years team since her best friend Tori was now in 7th grade and was able to be on the team too!!

They finished in 2nd place......which not many ever predicted would happen!! Way to go wildcats!!

Codi and Tori with their 2nd place pose!

At the beginning of February...the end of a tradition of 12 years came :-(....Craig took Codi to her final Daddy/Daughter dinner dance...Tad and Craig have been double dating every year..such great memories they have made!!!

Earlier in January, Craig and I went with the Thorntons, Bourlands, and Putz to Vegas for a weekend trip....definitely the highlight of the trip was the Zach Brown Band Concert---absolutely amazing show!!

This is very random but while walking in Vegas, you could take a picture with Barney who was working for tips...our kids were ADDICTED to Barney when they were we paid our respects :-)

The girls at the Concert :-)
