Spring Break 2011 :-)

Spring Break 2011 is pretty much over already :-(....it was a great week off and was filled with great family memories!! :0---We left the last Friday before the break started early in the morning for Carli's volleyball tournament in Denver, CO.....It is a great tournament and it was a first for me to go just as mom and not have a group of girls to be responsible for. Craig, Larry, and I got there early Friday so we headed to the Coors brewery for their tour....it was a lot of fun--the tour ends with a free happy hour!! :-)

About to get his free happy hour---:-)

Oh yeah...we were there to watch volleyball :-)...Carli's team played absolutely amazing---they won every match on Saturday and Sunday---and ended up getting 4th place out of 61 teams!

Way to go Epic!!!!

On Wednesday and Friday we headed to spring training games :-) Although Dallmann is officially banned from coming....we still had a good time :-)

First Track Meet!!

Carli is running track at Centennial and had her first track meet Wednesday night! Apparently we have quite the middle distance child on our hands :-)...(definitely does NOT get this from her mother...) Her events for this track meet were the Varsity 1600m (mile run), Varsity 800m, and JV 4 X400 relay. I had never sat through an entire track meet. I kind of didn't have a choice either because her events ranged from the 2nd race of the meet to the last meet of the meet!! Carli was extremely nervous...she isn't used to being out of her comfort zone!

Waiting in the holding area to start the mile run...this is definitely one of her nervous habits, touching her hair :-)

Still waiting...had to have been the hardest part!

And they are off!! She did awesome...ran her mile in 6:14--fastest she has ever done...got 8th out of the 21 runners! I think she surprised herself...which has made her hungry for more :-)

I was exhausted just watching!!

Taking her sweats off to get ready for the 800---quite possibly the hardest race of the meet.

Taking off on the start line for the 800...she is farthest on the left---she ran 600 of this race in 4th place....then boom..the last 200yds weren't meant to be...she ended up 7th which is good considering she is running against all upper classmen at the varsity level.

Carli and Leah---They were both in my first hour last semester...every time we ran a long run or timed mile in class...Carli would be about 5 steps behind Leah...It became quite the competition!! They are the perfect pair that will make each other better in the next 4 years :-)
Great job Carli!! She informed me we need to buy her some 'middle distance spikes'...she knows what colors she wants on her shoes (DEFINITELY gets that from her mother :-)
